Philosophy

- Philosophy is a compulsory subject in the general knowledge at the postgraduate level to continue fostering the worldview of scientific materialism, the revolutionary outlook on life, and the dialectical materialistic methodology training at the university level to meet the requirements of the humanities and social sciences majors at the postgraduate level.

- As a system of general theoretical knowledge of people about the world and the role and position of people in the world, the subject helps learners to correctly identify the role and position of philosophical theories in general and Marxist-Leninist philosophy in social life.

- The course helps learners to study general issues of philosophy, ontology, epistemology, political philosophy, human philosophy in the history of philosophy in general, and Marxist-Leninist philosophy.

Advanced Research methods

Advanced Research Methods is a subject in the basic knowledge that provides learners with a broad understanding of Ethics in scientific research; How to define and describe the research problem; Review research materials, identify research gaps and make research questions; Building and Testing research hypothesis; Research framework (qualitative, quantitative, mixed); Methods for collecting and analyzing qualitative data; Quantitative data collection and analysis methods.

Emerging Topics in Banking and Finance

The subject equips learners with new issues in banking and finance. Students will understand non-traditional monetary policy tools and issues of monetary policy management in the open context of the economy. Students learn new topics in the field of Finance and Banking, such as Overview of financial technology (FINTECH), the combination of banking and finance activities with high technology through activities for peer-to-peer (P2P) lending, the advent of new financial products such as supply chain financing and shadow banking.

Economic – Financial and Banking Law

The Economics - Finance - Banking Law course belongs to the specialized knowledge of the Master of Finance and Banking program to help postgraduate students master in-depth knowledge about the business legal environment in Vietnam. Then, having the ability to apply and analyze the legal nature of the laws that comprehensively govern the formation, development, and termination of enterprises in general and credit institutions - a particular type of enterprise; Ability to research and apply the laws on economic contracts in general and specialized contracts related to banking activities in particular, as well as seek for settlement methods in business activities to plan the management and operation of banks, financial institutions and businesses effectively.

Bank Regulation & Supervision

“Regulations in banking activities” is a subject of specialized knowledge. The course will provide learners with in-depth knowledge of banking business issues that may affect financial stability, thereby introducing regulations in banking supervision according to international practices and reality in Vietnam.

Advanced Corporate Finance

The course provides in-depth knowledge of corporate finance including key decisions in financial management, profitability and risk, capital structure, dividend policy, mergers & acquisitions, issues of authorizing - representatives. Students are guided to collect data about a specific business, step by step analyze the business model of the enterprise, evaluate the financial decisions of the management, identify risks, and evaluate the business.

Advanced International Finance

The International Finance course is an advanced course in the basic major knowledge, helping learners approach international finance issues at an in-depth level in the direction of government policy analysis. This course is also a foundation to help learners make investment decisions and raise capital on international financial markets in the context of unpredictable fluctuations in exchange rates.

Data Analysis and Economic Forecasting

Macroeconomic analysis and forecast include two main contents:

-    Macroeconomic analysis: helps students assess the main factors in the macroeconomic framework and the relationship between these factors including the Real economic sector, external sector, monetary area, and fiscal area.

  • Macroeconomic forecasting: helps students build macroeconomic forecasting models based on econometric skills.

Advanced Project Appraisal

The course aims to provide advanced knowledge, skills, and attitudes in the field of investment project appraisal. The content of the course includes the cash flow planning perspectives of the project, the effect of working capital on cash flow, the ability to repay debt and evaluate the financial performance of the project, methods of estimating the total investment capital of the project, borrowing needs and sources of loan repayment of the project, assessing the feasibility of equity sources involved in the project, and the adjusted evaluation criteria.

Financial Investment & Portfolio Management

This subject is part of specialized knowledge, providing learners with in-depth knowledge of theory and practice related to securities analysis and portfolio management. The subject also helps learners grasp the development trends and research directions in the field of financial investment and portfolio management. The subject will be taught in an application- and practice-oriented manner; Therefore, it will be useful for those who have a career orientation related to financial investment such as professional investment advisor, securities analyst, investment fund manager.

Advanced Bank Management

Advanced modern banking management is a subject of specialized knowledge. The course provides learners with in-depth knowledge on modern commercial banking management, thereby helping learners to adapt and apply effectively to commercial banking management activities in the context of international integration.

Microfinance

The subject belongs to specialized knowledge, providing students with knowledge about microfinance operations, the characteristics of the microfinance market, and the impact of Microfinance on society, the economy, and the national financial system. Besides. This course provides knowledge about the criteria for evaluating the sustainable development of the operation of a microfinance institution, mentioning the assessment of the current situation of the microfinance market in Vietnam and the microfinance market development trend in the world.

Financial Derivatives & Risk Management

The course focuses on the study of basic derivatives (plain-vanilla) such as forwards, futures, swaps, and options, with an emphasis on understanding the principles, pricing models, and use of each tool in financial risk management.

Internal Auditing and Control

Advanced internal control and audit subject provides in-depth knowledge for learners about internal control and audit in credit institutions in general and banks in particular. This subject equips learners with the ability to analyze and evaluate issues related to internal control and audit, including the design, implementation, and evaluation of the effectiveness of internal control, internal audit in the organization. At the same time, this subject also provides learners with the knowledge and the ability to apply theories to related studies on internal control and internal audit in credit institutions and banks.

Behavioral Finance

The subject helps students analyze and evaluate investor decisions and explain unusual phenomena in the market. Students can also choose appropriate decisions to improve the financial performance of investors in the increasingly integrated financial environment of Vietnam.

Advanced Leadership and Management

Leadership and management skills are subjects of specialized knowledge. This subject aims to equip students with knowledge about the role of leaders in changing, developing, and improving organizational structures and values; understand the important activities of leadership and management to apply in the management and operation of organizations and businesses. This subject has a special emphasis on providing a solid foundation of modern knowledge and practical application of leadership and governance in the context of globalization, knowledge explosion, and a fast-changing environment.

In this course, with the scientific orientation and guidance of the assigned lecturers, students will choose research problems in the field of finance - banking; Based on the selected research problem, students must clearly define the objectives, objects, scope, research methods and apply knowledge, as well as use research methods to solve the research objectives independently, scientifically, systematically, with high creativity; thereby helping students improve their research skills.
